Privacy

Tolstoy Today has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. It sets no cookies.

What stays on your device

Your settings (the language, Compare, Show sources, the size of the text, light or dark with warmth and brightness, swiping between days) and the last day you read. They are kept by your browser, or by the app, on your device, and are never sent to us. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.

What you send

A message from the Contact page comes to the editor by email, with the name and address you give, if you give them; Resend, the service that sends it, passes it on. It is kept in the editor’s mail and nowhere else, and is used only to answer you and to correct the site. Your internet address is used only to limit how many messages can be sent at once, and is not kept.

What the site counts

The site is hosted by Vercel, whose Web Analytics count page views: which pages are read, and from what country, kind of device, and browser. They use no cookies and keep nothing that identifies you. Vercel describes them in its analytics privacy notice.

Other sites

Under Show sources, a source’s own text opens on the library or archive that holds it, under that site’s own terms.

The apps

The app versions of Tolstoy Today, where you use one, are this site, and keep and count the same.
